The Hair Experiment: The Swirly Bun Top

This hair experiment was inspired by a look in Nylon magazine. Very similar but I made it just a tad diferent.

You Need:
-comb
-bobby pin
-small scrunchy or rubber band

1. Use your comb to part a large section if hair in the front and comb forward towards your forehead

2. Grab your scrunchy or rubber band and tie the back section of your hair into a perfect (or somewhat perfect) bun.

3. For the front section, comb forward again, then grab the section and pull it back (not tight), twist the end just a little and pin down in place with your bobby pin.

4. Use hair spray if needed to hold in place but not required.

There you go! You have your Swirly Bun Top!

*feel free to add your own twist to it*

For example: instead of twisting the whole front sections, split the front section into 2 parts and twist them seperately to get a different look. Play with it until you find a style that works for you ;0)

The Rothko Manicure

"The perfect way to make your nails messy and expensive." -Lexi Lewtan

This is the awkward yet interesting new manicure inspired by a famous abstract painter by the name of Mark Rothko. His paintings are known for their powerful color palettes and their brush-stroked rectangles. Unlike other trendy manicures that are to fancy to do, The Rothko Manicure is easy to do. You simply make two messy stripes (on purpose ofcourse), one fat and the other should be a thinner stripe and there you go! Your nails have become (somewhat) art.

Although I am tempted to try it, I am hesitant because I do not want my nails to look ANYTHING like what it is in the pictures. All I know is it needs to look better than that. The pictures are hideous, I know! But for some reason it is becoming very popular! But hey, what do I know!? Try it for yourself!

The Lovely Lady Zoe

There is no perfect way to describe this amazing woman. Zoe has wowed us all in her incredible role in Avatar and will make her way back to the big screen twice this month in the film, The Losers and Neil LaBute’s remake of Death at a Funeral starring Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence and Tracy Morgan.

Zoe Saldana is one of the most famous actors in Hollywood. “I’m just the same as anyone else: as a man, as anybody. I don’t feel like I’m being unreasonable. I’m not a hater, and I’m not a rebellious person. I don’t believe in racism, and I don’t believe in discrimination-you have to not believe in these things in order for them to not exist in your life. But I do believe in a mental conviction that I am,” said by Saldana in an interview with Nylon Magazine for their April issue.

She is beautiful, an amazing actress and takes incredible photos, may I add! Be sure to keep your eye on this woman who seems to be center of attention and check out her two new films coming out this month.

Water=Relaxation

So today turned out another perfect day with the weather being 75 and all, so my mother and I decided to go to the Tidal Basin and go walking. We made a quick stop at Subway to grab some lunch on the way then found a great shaded spot to relax and enjoy our late lunches.Lunch was good and all but the sworming of nats, bees and flies around me made it just a little bit more interesting with me ducking and swatting in between bites and sips of my soda. Fat, full and satisfied we packed up our trash and headed off for our long walk. We had such a beautiful view all the way around but then my legs started to hurt. Then they sudden started to hurt more when I realized that we still had quite a ways to go! Lol. About 45 minutes later, we finally made it back to to the car, tired and ready for a nap. So that was pretty much my adventure of the day. Just decided to take my sunday nice and easy before another non-stop crazy week. Hope you guys enjoyed your weekend! =)

Bloggeritis

Yes, I said it! Bloggeritis. Bloggeritis is a word that just so happened to make up which means going without blogging for a certain period of time. Today and yesterday was probably the first time I blogged in two or three weeks. So I seemed to have caught bloggeritis but I am now getting back into the swing of things. Between work, college and my social life (well, what's left of it..)it is hard to find time to write becasue writing takes so much time that I don't have. But when I do write/blog, I love it! Seriously, who doesn't love to talk about fashion 24/7?? I know I do! Are you a writer? Have you caught bloggeritis yet?

Fashion Show in Pakistan's Peshawar

This particular show was called a stress releiver by many viewers because of being in a city that was hit hard by bombs and suicide attacks. The show was held 15 minutes away from the American Consulate which was targeted monday by guns, grenades and suicide car bombs. The show turned out a complete success with no problems.

A Chilly Day

Although yesterday was pretty chilly outside, I happened to make it out to take some new pictures and they turned out great. I did not however take pictures with all of my new clothes because I did not have much time and like I said before it was cold. Here are some of the pictures.










These were the only ones that I ended up taking but I’m just glad that they turned out good the first time. I will continue to take more maybe today or tomorrow because the weather is supposed to be so much better. I can’t wait!

Also today, my mother and I may head to the movies to see a movie today. I don’t exactly know what we will go see so I guess we will just make it a surprise. =)

Traffic Ruined My Mood

After a 3 hour drive to Virginia Beach had turned into a 4 1/2 hour drive, I was pretty much drained from the sun beating down against me. Then I hit my limit when we finally arrived and wasn’t able to hit the boardwalk along the beach. The only thing is that because it is cooler outside and we are by the water, it is so much colder and it is freezing! From all the previous shopping I have done, I wanted the weather to be nice so I could wear the cute new jumper I bought. But as I said before, it is not warm enough. Well, I’m back in the hotel now, winding down for the night. Can’t wait for more adventures tomoro! Nite! =)

Time For A Vacation

So tonight my mother and I are packing for a much needed mini vacation.We are driving down to Virginia Beach for the weekend! I’m so excited but I wish that the weather would be nice enough so I could wear my bathing suit on the beach but I can’t because it is still way too chilly. Oh well! The good thing is that I will be bringing my laptop along so I will still be able to blog, post photos and do videos as well. So yes, don’t worry, I will still be blogging =)

Just a heads up, I may be doing a haul while in VB or shortly after depending on the time that I have. Mom and I have already made plans to hit the boardwalk, go biking, walking, hit a movie and we may even do some harmless shopping. You never know! So you will just have to wait and see until then. Our bags are almost packed and we’re ready to go! Woo Hoo! Talk to ya’ll soon!
